About KV PM SHRI KV No.2 Kasaragod, Kerala

The Vidyalaya was set up in 1985 to meet the Educational needs of the Children of the Central Govt. employee of the District. Initially it was housed in a relief centre at Thalangara. Later it was shifted to another relief centre at Anangoor. Now, the need for a permanent building was felt more keenly than ever before. Consequently, Govt. of Kerala provided 10 acres of land at Udayagiri near Vidyanagar and the foundation stone for the building was laid in 1988 by the then Governor of Kerala Mr. P.Ramachandran. The work taken up by the CPWD, was completed in 1992 and the school shifted to the new building in August of the same year.

Till 2002, the school was a single section school from classes I to XII (Science Stream). But in 2003, the school was permitted to have two sections for each up to Class X with a Pre-primary section. Vidyalaya has total staff strength of 42 and student strength of 930.

The Vidyalaya is a two storey concrete structure with roomy class rooms, well maintained computer room, library, and well equipped labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a separate Junior Science lab. There is an extensive playground at the back conducive for conducting all track and field events and a lonely children's park in the front.

Set, far from the madding crowd's ignoble strife, in the lap of nature, the unpolluted and healthy atmosphere rejuvenates the young minds and gives them a fillip to attain success at every step. Indeed, it stands embellished with an attractive garden and a water fountain, overlooking the historic Vidyanagar, Seethangoli road, making new history every year in academic programs.
